Geoff visits Radio Kidnappers in New Zealand

Geoff took a well deserved holiday recently and visited New Zealand, and whilst there visited the studios of Radio Kidnappers, who broadcast Geoff's shows.

Established in 1995, Radio Kidnappers is the Access Radio station for Hawke's Bay, and can be heard throughout all of Hawke's Bay - including up in Wairoa and Mahia, and down in Waipawa/Waipukurau, and often in other nearby districts during the day such as Dannevirke, Gisborne, Taupo etc, and even further afield at night. They also broadcast around the world from their website, www.radiokidnappers.org.nz

Geoff meets legendary BBC Radio 2 DJ, Johnnie Walker!

Geoff Dorsett meets ledgendary BBC Radio 2 DJ at The Tivoli!

Johnnie Walker MBE is a popular British veteran radio disc jockey and broadcaster. He is noted for his knowledge and love of music, his championing of new artists and his attributing more importance to songs he plays rather than the chat in between.

On 27 February 2006, Walker announced his departure from the BBC Radio 2 drive time slot he had occupied for several years. He now presents a Sunday show specialising music from the 1970s, and occasionally deputises for other presenters when they are on leave.

We get a mention in the Mr Kyps newsletter...

On Monday 17th May, live music venue Mr Kyps at Parr Street in Poole mentioned us in their email newsletter...

"Finally on Sunday we come to Jim-Bob the enigmatic frontman of Carter USM. Along with guitarist Fruitbat, Carter USM had 14 top 40 singles and a number one album, sold over a million records and toured the world. With Carter, Jim Bob would become known for his socially aware pop lyrics and in particular his use of puns.

Graduates from Wiltshire to Launch Exciting New Music Web Site

Two girls from Warminster, Clare Halls and Claire Pitcher have been working together on a music project in order to boost the South West music scene across all genres as well as increase interest in bands and artists internationally.

The idea of SouthSonic started last October when they decided to put together their knowledge gained from their degrees (Clare Halls has a degree in journalism and music production and Claire Pitcher has a degree in law) to develop an exciting and independent site for music made produced and played across the South West of the UK.

Great People on my Radio Show

To have 4 interviews in one night is more than usual but what variety.

Foollowing on from having Dave Clarke -local Pompey guy live in the sudio for whole show talking his work with Beach Boys and Paul MCcartney to speaking with Mick Avory of the Kinks was super.

This Monday 18th Jan how's this for variation??
